The Position:
Applications are currently being accepted for Occupational, Environmental Health & Safety Coordinator in the Human Resources/Risk Management Department, located at the District Office. Hours are 8:00 AM-5:00PM, Monday - Friday. Selected candidate must be willing to adjust work days/hours based on the department's needs.

Please note that an employee may be transferred to any site at the option of the Chancellor.

Demonstrated knowledge, experience and ability in interpreting and complying with OSHA, Cal/ OSHA, USEPA, and other related occupational and environmental health and other State and Federal safety laws. Demonstrated knowledge, experience and ability in the principles of industrial hygiene, environmental and public health and practices used in determining and eliminating health hazards in occupational and environmental settings. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in developing safety & compliance policies and administrative procedures, preferably within a community college setting. Demonstrated Experience in the development of Occupational Environmental Health & Safety (OEHS) training programs, preferably including laboratory safety. Demonstrated experience in executing mandatory and requested OEHS in-person training. Demonstrated ability in conducting monthly documented inspections. Demonstrated ability in conducting data analysis regarding injuries, injury trends, and cost analysis to disseminate results to various stakeholders. Demonstrated experience and ability in managing hazardous materials, including inventory, waste management, and reporting. Demonstrated experience in evaluating operations to determine which, if any, regulations apply.

Pay Information:
Range 32 ($5,043.58 $8,050.69) per month based on the current AFT Classified Unit Office Technical Salary Schedule

Initial salary placement is commensurate with related experience and promotional rules. The District offers a comprehensive fringe benefit package including employer paid: medical, dental, and vision plans; sick and vacation leave; and opportunities for professional development. Initial Salary Placement, Promoted or transferred employees will be placed as specified in the AFT-Guild, Local 1931 Classified Staff Collective Bargaining Agreement. This position is FLSA Non-Exempt and may accrue overtime. A temporary probationary period will be applied to the employee entering this assignment.
