You would be the inaugural person in this position, reporting to and working closely with the vice chancellor while playing a pivotal role in shaping the direction and success of our newly established office. As a key Office of Institutional Innovation and Effectiveness team member, the Innovation Systems Analyst (ISA) will independently analyze emerging technologies and process strategy trends. This includes managing projects from ideation to execution, ensuring alignment with the district's strategic objectives, and developing actionable strategies based on comprehensive research. The ISA will also craft well-researched proposals and analytical reports, providing insights and recommendations. Acting as a technology liaison, the role involves effective collaboration and communication with technology experts and stakeholders, showcasing the benefits and effectiveness of technological or emerging process initiatives. Responsibilities extend to tech discovery, intelligence, market analysis, competitor analysis, and investment analysis, keeping abreast of technological advancements. The ISA will exhibit an entrepreneurial and innovative mindset, proactively identifying and implementing technology solutions that enhance institutional effectiveness. They will also advocate for educational and emerging work technologies, applying this knowledge to drive improvements in district operations and educational outcomes. This role demands a blend of technical acumen and an interest in the educational sector's evolving technological landscape.

Note: The II&E Office supports district-wide research and planning, data management, strategic planning, accreditation, and emerging technologies. We also provide support through training throughout these areas.

Hours are Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm. Selected candidate must be willing to adjust work days/hours based on the department's needs.

  • Emerging Technologies and AI Familiarity: an interest in and understanding of the latest technological advancements, especially in artificial intelligence. Familiarity with or a willingness to learn and integrate AI tools like ChatGPT into the workflow. Interest in other emerging technologies such as Web3.
  • Web Development Skills: Experience with HTML or website editing/planning is valuable.
  • Capability to Educate and Train Others: Experience effectively training and educating peers, stakeholders, or team members in new technologies and practices.
