Job Description Summary:
Works with the Director of the Office of Experiential Learning and the Service-Learning Program Coordinator to assist in supporting and promoting the academic Service-Learning Program and ACC volunteer experiences, including events and class projects, across Academic, Workforce, and Continuing Education areas.

Works under the general guidance of a director or manager, who provides direction and evaluates performance outcomes. The specialist is expected to complete tasks independently, seeking advice on complex issues or when deviations from standard procedures are necessary. May oversee the work of peers, junior staff, or interns within the department. Provides project support to ensure that tasks are completed accurately and efficiently. Monitors progress and quality of work, offering feedback and direction as needed.

- Provide specialized assistance, insight, and support to various departments, including project support and analysis, record maintenance, and implementing policies and procedures.
- Utilize specialized skills to ensure efficiency and effectiveness in specific functions.
- Assist with planning and organizing college events, such as fundraisers, alumni gatherings, community outreach programs, and other departmental projects as needed.
- Complete or monitor organizational functions or processes, ensuring that they are completed accurately, on time, and in compliance with established policies and regulations.
- Track processes, preparing reports for management detailing quality or quantity of departmental actions.
- Handle correspondence, arrange meetings, and complete assigned tasks.
Description of Duties and Tasks
- Provide programmatic support for the Service-Learning Program, collaborating with the Director and Program Coordinator to promote program availability across Academic, Workforce and Continuing Education areas.
- Facilitate daily program correspondence with faculty, students, and external community partners across multiple written and oral media channels to share program initiatives.
- Execute assigned service-learning projects and project components, ensuring deliverables are met in alignment with established timelines for program goals.
- Audit, update, and maintain community partner database to ensure accurate tracking and compliance for community engagement efforts.
- Oversee program data collection, organization, and reporting across all program areas to track program impact and quality.
- Coordinate and implement program events, managing logistics from planning through execution.
- Develop promotional and educational materials targeted at students and faculty; represent the department at outreach events such as Riverbat Bash, Welcome Week, and other ACC events as assigned.
- Participate in meetings with faculty and community partners, ensuring timely follow-up actions and continuity of service.
- Assist with the maintenance of related software integrations and provides training to users to ensure system efficiency and data integrity.
- Support service-learning volunteer opportunities, including the optimization of event listings, registration workflows, and documentation processes.
- Act as primary liaison between internal departments and external organizations to identify, align and satisfy volunteer needs and opportunities.
Job Requirements
Knowledge:
- Understand and apply standard administrative procedures and practices, including record-keeping, scheduling, and office management.
- Demonstrate proficiency in both written and verbal communication to effectively interact with students, faculty, staff, and external partners.
- Utilize knowledge of data entry, database management, and the ability to maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
- Familiarity with college policies, state and federal regulations, and accreditation requirements to ensure adherence and proper documentation.
Preferred Knowledge:
- Current principles and best practices of service-learning and volunteering.
- Industry trends, local business and community leaders.
- State and federal labor laws and regulations concerning volunteering.
Skills:
- Demonstrate strong organizational abilities to manage multiple tasks, prioritize work, and meet deadlines efficiently.
- Exhibit effective interpersonal skills to interact smoothly with colleagues, students, and external partners, fostering a positive work environment.
- Possess strong analytical skills to interpret data, solve problems, and make informed decisions that support the college's administrative functions.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor's degree.
- Four (4) years of related work experience or Associate's degree plus two (2) years of related work experience can be substituted for the required education (plus the required experience noted below).
Experience:
- One (1) year of related work experience.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience in planning, coordinating, and implementing educational programs.
- Non-teaching professional experience in one of the areas of the Workforce education divisions.
Special Requirements:
- Valid Texas Driver's License and reliable transportation for local Austin area travel.

- Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
- Occasional lifting of objects up to 10 pounds.
