Job Description Summary:
To produce, direct, edit, and manage the development and production of live and recorded video programs to support the student success initiatives.
Job Description:
Description of Duties and Tasks
- Writes and composes proposals, scripts, and storyboards; reviews proposals with client to plan and develop creative solutions and treatments; identifies and clarifies communication concepts, scope, theme, audio and visual elements, budget, timeline, and priorities.
- Coordinates and performs pre-production activities such as schedules, studio reservations, shot sheets, crew assignments, talent acquisition, location scouting, set design, graphics preparation, and rehearsals.
- Assigns studio personnel as needed, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
- Coordinates and performs technical setup of studio, including set design and construction, props and wardrobe, lighting, and electronics.
- Oversees crew members during studio and location production performs duties of director, audio technician, videographer, or grip as needed to assure production quality.
- Performs post-production activities, including scene selection, editing, graphics, special effects, music selection, and media conversion. Prepares media for distribution to the web, radio, TV, social media, and more.
- Evaluates the effectiveness of finished products with clients.
- Researches and makes purchase recommendations for video and photography production and post-production equipment and software.
- Plans, tracks, and accounts for project expenditures, and submits reports as required. Maintains files and records.
- May produce studio live-streamed shows including analysis of best delivery method, budgeting, managing the technical components, hiring and managing crews, and ensuring successful completion of the show.
Additional Duties:
- Provides photography services including event coverage, environmental photography, and professional headshots; edits and prepares images for use across web, print, and social media platforms.
Knowledge
- Current principles and practices of video production technology and applications in an educational environment.
- Materials, processes, equipment, methods, and techniques used in the development and production of video projects.
- Project planning and management principles.

- Proficiency using digital video cameras of varying formats.

- Two years related work experience.

- More than two years related work experience.
Required Education
- Bachelor's degree.
Special Requirements
- Valid Texas Driver's license and good driving record.
Physical Requirements
- Work is performed in a variety of settings including on location scouting, in studio, and office or similar environment.
- Subject to manual dexterity, standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling, pushing, and pulling.
- Lifting of objects up to 20 pounds.
