Job Summary/Basic Function:
Reports to the Division Chair of Communications and Fine Arts.

Teaches drama courses and courses as assigned in another discipline, or disciplines
Directs and supervises all aspects of college drama productions, including, but not limited to, supervision of students and/or community workers, casting, set design and construction, costumes and stage sound and lighting, recruiting and drama scholarship program, fund raising, advertising and box office operations;
submits budget requests and maintains budget control.
Prepares curriculum, including writing syllabi, develops new courses, recommends textbooks, prepares theatre for acting classes, rehearsals, and productions, etc.
Assists in the advisement of students.
Serves on various assigned college committees

Minimum Qualifications:

A master's degree from an accredited college or university.
Eighteen (18) graduate hours in drama required and eighteen (18) graduate hours in speech or English, preferred
Drama practicum course work preferred in addition to courses in dramatic literature.
Demonstrated evidence of successful teaching, acting, directing, and technical theatre experience at the community college level preferred
Interest in alternative instructional delivery methods
Demonstrated ability of working with culturally diverse populations
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Basic computer literacy
Exceptional employment or educational qualifications may be given special consideration
