Work Hours: Standard College hours are Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm; Additional hours, including evening and weekend hours, may be needed to meet the needs of the College.

General Summary: Responsible for the overall leadership and management of the CCAC Educational Foundation. The Foundation is a Pennsylvania non-profit corporation formed exclusively for educational and charitable purposes to benefit and support the Community College of Allegheny County (CCAC) As the Foundation's chief executive officer, the CEO is responsible for the leadership and performance of a comprehensive program for fundraising from private and philanthropic sources that includes annual giving, alumni relationships, corporate and foundation relations, major and planned giving, and campaigns to support a variety of CCAC initiatives. The CEO interacts with a diverse set of individuals, including CCAC's president and executive officers, Foundation Board members, CCAC's board of trustees, faculty, staff, students, alumni, and members of the community.

Requirements:

A master's degree in an appropriate field conducive to fundraising and a minimum of 8 years of experience. CFRE is preferred.

Competencies:

  • Proven successful track record of identifying potential donors and raising significant funds, cultivating donor relationships, soliciting gifts, and overseeing the endowment for the distribution of funds for scholarships and other purposes.
  • Proven success in managing major, comprehensive campaigns.
  • Understanding various gift instruments, estate planning, trust administration, gift planning strategies, and related tax laws.
  • Experience with computerized recordkeeping systems.
  • Experience in leading initiatives and board of community leaders, planning and setting strategic direction for fundraising initiatives, and complying with governmental and IRS regulations.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Accounting and budget management processes in a non-profit environment.
  • Must possess solid judgment and well-developed organizational skills.
  • Must possess the leadership abilities necessary to guide the college, Foundation board, and volunteers in building and expanding private philanthropy.
  • Must adhere to the highest ethical standards and best practices of philanthropy and fundraising.


Duties:

  1. Serves as chief administrative officer of the foundation and manages the operations in accordance with federal and state regulations, CCAC and Foundation policies and by-laws, and other applicable regulations.
  2. Supervises and leads Foundation staff in identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and securing private funds for the college.
  3. Provides leadership and vision for the development of a comprehensive fundraising program. This includes direct oversight of all annual, major, planned giving, and campaign prospects.
  4. Develops and maintains dynamic relationships with volunteers, donors, foundations, businesses and corporations, faculty, staff, and alumni.
  5. Ensures that gifts and grants are administered to honor the donor's intent and adhere to investment policies, scholarship criteria, and foundation bylaws.
  6. Oversees the Foundation's scholarship program process and budget, the establishment of new funds, and the internal process of promoting, granting, and communicating with students and donors regarding awards.
  7. Directs the fundraising from alumni in support of the activities of the college.
  8. Assists the Foundation Board in recruiting and training new members.
  9. Prepares agendas and reports for quarterly Foundation Board meetings and keeps the board informed of related programs and activities throughout the year.
  10. Works with members of the Foundation's finance committee in managing the Foundation's endowment and other financial investments; overseeing the Foundation's audit and tax filings.
  11. Oversees the donor and financial management systems to ensure accurate accounting and acknowledgement of gifts, as well as effective tracking of prospects, donors, and volunteer participants.
  12. Performs other duties as required or as assigned.
