Position Summary
The Head Baseball Coach provides visionary leadership, strategic direction, and operational oversight for the development and sustained success of Brazosport College's intercollegiate baseball program. As a founding leader within a startup athletics environment, this position is responsible for building a competitive program grounded in integrity, character development, academic achievement, and community engagement.
The Head Baseball Coach will implement best practices in collegiate baseball, integrating advanced analytics, player development systems, and performance optimization strategies to support individual and team success. This role fosters a culture of accountability, discipline, and continuous improvement while aligning with the College's mission of elevating lives through education and learning that inspires, empowers, and connects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Build and lead a comprehensive NJCAA baseball program from inception, including program philosophy, structure, and operational systems

Establish a culture rooted in integrity, character, accountability, and competitive excellence

Develop and implement a multi-year program plan focused on sustainable growth, recruitment pipelines, and competitive success

Ensure full compliance with NJCAA, institutional, and Title IX requirements

Promote holistic development of student-athletes, emphasizing academic success, personal responsibility, leadership, and life skills

Monitor academic progress, retention, and completion in coordination with advising and student services

Foster an environment that prioritizes character, discipline, teamwork, and resilience

Provide mentorship and guidance supporting transfer and career pathways

Design and implement comprehensive training programs that enhance individual and team performance

Utilize evidence-based coaching methodologies and player development models

Incorporate strength and conditioning principles, injury prevention strategies, and recovery protocols

Develop position-specific and situational skill progression plans

Integrate advanced baseball analytics into player evaluation, game strategy, and performance improvement

Utilize data-driven tools to assess pitching metrics, hitting efficiency, defensive performance, and game outcomes

Apply video analysis and technology platforms to support player development and scouting

Continuously evaluate and refine strategies based on performance data and emerging best practices

Develop and execute a strategic recruiting plan targeting high-character, academically capable student-athletes

Build relationships with high school, club, and elite regional baseball programs

Ensure recruiting practices align with institutional values and NJCAA regulations

Manage scholarship allocations and roster composition strategically

Serve as a visible ambassador for Brazosport College Athletics within the community

Build partnerships with local schools, organizations, and stakeholders to support program growth

Coordinate camps, clinics, and outreach initiatives to enhance program visibility and community connection

Promote a positive image of the College through professional conduct and engagement

Oversee all aspects of program operations, including scheduling, travel, equipment, and budgeting

Collaborate with Athletics administration on facilities planning, game-day operations, and compliance

Maintain accurate records, including eligibility, academic progress, and program documentation

Ensure responsible stewardship of College resources and adherence to fiscal controls

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required;
Minimum of three (3) years of high school, collegiate or professional baseball coaching experience
Demonstrated success in player development and program building
Knowledge of NJCAA rules and regulations
Experience integrating analytics and technology into coaching and performance evaluation

Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree preferred
Experience building or significantly developing a baseball program
Background at both community college and/or four-year collegiate levels
Proven ability to utilize advanced analytics, video systems, and performance data
Strong recruiting network within Texas and surrounding regions

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong leadership and program-building capability
Ability to develop student-athletes both academically and athletically
Proficiency in data analysis, performance metrics, and technology platforms
Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Commitment to integrity, ethical conduct, and student-centered decision-making

Physical Demands
Ability to perform duties associated with on-field instruction and practice
Ability to travel and work evenings and weekends as required
Ability to lift and move athletic equipment
