Manager, Project - EPMO
Job Description Summary:
The Project Manager, EPMO is responsible for driving projects from initiation to completion. Leads projects of low to moderate complexity with limited oversight. Proactively addresses risks and roadblocks to project success. Proactively monitors project health and escalates early in the event a project is at risk. Ensures transparency of and collaboration in project work with timely communication and knowledge and data sharing.
Job Description:
Key Responsibilities
- Manages multiple projects simultaneously, drives projects to completion, and ensures effective outcomes for the college.
- Define project scope, goals, deliverables, timeline, and resource needs in collaboration with EPMO staff, stakeholders and sponsors.
- Develop detailed project plans and maintain project documentation, including action items, decision logs, RAID logs, status reports, project schedule, and resource and budget plans.
- Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors to ensure smooth execution of project activities.
- Identify and manage project risks, issues, and dependencies, escalating when necessary to ensure resolution.
- Facilitate regular project meetings, prepare executive updates, and provide clear and timely communication to stakeholders at all levels.
- Ensure adherence to EPMO governance standards, policies, and best practices.
- Support change management activities and contribute to user training, testing, and adoption strategies.
- May serve as a business analyst resource.
Knowledge
- Project and business analysis methodologies, including tools and techniques.
- Academic and administrative operations in higher education.
- Financial, budget, and resource planning and analysis.
- Vendor and stakeholder management.
- Risk assessment and mitigation.
- Change management in dynamic or cross-functional environments.
Skills
- Effectively using organizational, time management, and planning skills with attention to detail and follow-through.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Proven ability to build trust and lead collaboration across internal stakeholder groups and college leadership.
- Effectively using negotiation and facilitation skills to support consensus-building and problem resolution.
- Demonstrated success in building and maintaining strong, service-oriented relationships with internal and external constituents.
Technology Skills
- Proficiency with project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Asana, Jira, or Smartsheet.
- Proficiency with MS Office produces (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Proficiency with G Suite (gmail, sheets, docs, and slide).
- Experience with enterprise academic and administrative technology (e.g. ERP, SIS, SIS, LMS).
Required Work Experience
- Two (2) years related experience.
Preferred Work Experience
- Experience in a higher education environment.
- Experience with academic and administrative technology implementations (e.g., ERP, CRM, LMS).
Required Education
- Associate's degree.
Two additional years of relevant experience may substitute for the Associate's degree requirement. Applicants who substitute work experience to meet the education requirement must use additional related experience to meet the minimum "Required Work Experience" for this position.
Special Requirements
- CAPM, PMP, or equivalent certification in analysis
- Certification in business analysis or product analysis.
Physical Requirements
- Work is performed in a standard office or similar environment.
- Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
- Occasional lifting of objects up to 10 pounds.
Safety
- Supervise and provide resources for the safe operation of units.
- Facilitate safety training and inspections.
Salary Range (PG 124)
$69,762 - $87,202
