Nursing/Healthcare Simulation Manager

General Job Summary: This is a full-time position located on the Emmetsburg Campus. Primary responsibilities are to direct and manage all aspects of clinical simulation in collaboration with the Director of Nursing Education and associated faculty to design, implement, evaluate, revise, schedule, and sustain the nursing simulation curriculum. Day, evening, and weekend hours may be required.

Employment with Iowa Lakes Community College is dependent upon successful passage of a criminal background check. Must be legally eligible to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.

Minimum Qualifications: Master's Degree preferred. Bachelor's Degree with significant progress towards Masters' Degree required. (Either Bachelor's Degree or Masters' Degree must have a major in Nursing.) Three years clinical nursing experience is required. Prior teaching experience and experience in medical/surgical nursing desired. Three years healthcare simulation education experience and Certified Healthcare Simulation Education credential is desired. Must be currently licensed as a registered nurse in Iowa. (Individuals are currently licensed when licensed in another state and recognized for licensure in Iowa, pursuant to the nurse licensure compact contained in Iowa Code Section 152E.1.) Must be in good standing and able to work at all clinical sites/hospitals affiliated with the Iowa Lakes Nursing Program.

Special Demands: Position involves sitting most of the time in a classroom/laboratory setting. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally (10-33%). Stooping, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling, carrying, and perceiving attributes of objects such as size, shape, temperature, texture by touching with skin, particularly in fingertips frequently (34-66%). Reaching, standing, walking, lifting, manual dexterity, grasping, talking, hearing, repetitive motion, and viewing carious types of close visual work constantly (67-100%). Required to travel between facilities utilizing personal vehicle. Must have valid driver's license, good driving record, and provide proof of insurance.

  • May potentially be subject to bio-hazardous waste, hazardous chemicals, fumes, and odors.
  • Persons must satisfy OSHA requirements for Bloodborne Pathogens training or complete the College's programs.
  • Comply with Iowa Administration Code Rules (59.12 (3)) regarding health exam and tuberculin test.

    Salary: $56,698 for a 260-day contract
