The Position:
Applications are currently being accepted for a Database Manager in Great Lakes, Illinois.
Database Managers will maintain the Basic Engineering Common Core School (BECC) Access database for all courses within the database. The Database Manager will provide technical and application support along with daily, weekly, monthly backups of server data.
Military Instructor positions offer opportunities across the nation to provide an assortment of military training to the Department of Defense. Our Military Education Program offers a wide range of opportunities in Military Technical Training, Military Combat Training, Vocational Training and Certification, Leadership and Management Development and Professional Skills Development. These positions are as-needed and applicants should live within the commuting distance from the designated place of duty.
NOTE: The San Diego Community College District, Military Education Department accepts applications for Military Instructor positions in support of government contracts on a continuous basis. However, it does not necessarily imply there are immediate openings. If you meet the required minimum qualifications, your application will be included in the Military Instructor pool for possible assignments. Hiring departments utilize the pool when there is a need and will contact you directly should you possess the qualifications they are seeking. Applications are purged approximately one year from submittal, at which time you will receive an automated e-mail notice to re-apply if you wish to remain in the pool.


Major Responsibilities:
Maintain the BECC Access database for all courses in the database
Set and enforce standards and controls
Prepare for database expansion by reviewing plans and requirements
Maintain and update the Access BECC database when course changes occur.
Accomplish upgrades and improvements as needed
Maintain database performance by troubleshooting problems
Secure database by developing policies, procedures, and controls.


Qualifications:
1. Access Experience
2. Over three years of Database Management Experience
3. Familiarization working with Military population


Desired Qualifications:
1. Familiarity with Moodle


Licenses:
Must be able to pass a background check and maintain clearance for base access


Pay Information:
At the time that an offer of assignment is made, proper salary placement is contingent upon receipt of OFFICIAL (sealed) transcripts and Verifications of Previous Work Experience (if applicable). Instructors with advanced coursework and/ or experience shall be placed on the appropriate class and step on the Adjunct College Salary Schedules, effective the first month following receipt (in Human Resources) of the official transcripts and Verifications of Previous Work Experience (if applicable). Initial salary placement will be at the first class/step until all required documentation has been submitted.
