Basic Function/Overview:
OVERVIEW:
Under the general direction of the Associate Vice President of Human Resources, the incumbent in this position serves as a lead in the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Compliance and Recruitment Services Department within the Human Resources Division. The incumbent provides technical advisement and guidance to staff and makes recommendations to human resources management regarding the efficiency and effectiveness of recruitment and hiring services, processes, and workload. The incumbent oversees and participates in designated human resources activities such as process and implementation training; auditing and monitoring recruitment and temporary hiring processes; and assisting in the development of recruitment and temporary hiring processes, procedures, and policies. Additionally, the incumbent performs confidential and complex human resources work in support of the Associate Vice President, Human Resources and the division.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED & EXERCISED:
Receives general supervision from an assigned managerial personnel. May provide technical and functional leadership to human resources employees, including supervision over student workers.

CLASS CHARACTERISTICS:
The Human Resources Analyst is a journey level classification in the professional human resources series. Positions at this level receive only occasional instruction or assistance as new or unusual situations arise and are fully aware of the operating procedures and policies of the work unit. This class is distinguished from Human Resources Technician by the full scope of complex, professional-level human resources work performed and by its lead responsibilities.

Working Environment:
Incumbents work in an office environment with moderate noise levels, controlled temperature conditions, and no direct exposure to hazardous physical substances. Incumbents may interact with staff, students, and/or the public in interpreting and enforcing departmental policies and procedures.

Physical Demands:
Must be able to work in a standard office setting and use standard office equipment, including technological devices; to communicate with individuals at various College and meeting sites; the ability to understand and comprehend written and electronic materials; and the ability to receive, review, and respond to communications in person, before groups, and over and through various media. This is primarily a sedentary office classification although movement between work areas may be required. Positions in this classification occasionally may need to physically reach, push, and pull drawers open and closed to retrieve and file information. Incumbents must possess the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects up to 20pounds.
